Position Purpose:

The utmost attention is given to customers by catering to their needs and preferences, offering a range of customized freshly-sliced deli items, party trays, hot meals, pre-cooked meals, and salads.

Major roles and obligations: The primary duties and responsibilities:

Advocates for the implementation of effective customer service programs within the Champions Company and Division, with the aim of surpassing customer service targets. Deftly manages customer relations, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution of any issues raised.

Ensures a welcoming environment for customers by delivering prompt and courteous customer service. Demonstrates effective sales skills such as suggestive selling through personal communication and in-store announcements.

The possibility of requesting a product is available to ensure that the needs of customers are fulfilled and the product's quality and freshness are preserved.

The responsibilities of this role encompass several tasks related to receiving merchandise. These include relocating products from the designated receiving zone, maintaining proper refrigeration, as well as arranging both the cooler and storage facilities.

Executes appropriate and effective methods for readying and packaging products. Handles and manages relevant apparatus like kitchenware, blades, fryers, conventional and microwave ovens, slicers, grills, food processors, wrappers, and scales. Crafts sandwiches, hot and cold cuisines as well as edibles and party assortments in accordance with the business norms. Adorns latex, protective and temperature-withstanding gloves.

Takes ownership of the cleanliness, organization, and stock levels of the deli case. Ensures that the deli area and equipment remain in good condition and that a safe workplace is maintained.

Holds the responsibility of complying with all the safety protocols for food handling, sanitation, and product handling.

The position requires the capacity to remain upright for extended periods, ambulate and change location promptly, fold over, hunch, rotate, and revolve frequently. Adequate manual aptitude and excellent coordination for the visual and manual organs are a must. It is imperative to be capable of operating kitchen tools and devices.

Maintaining a state of mental alertness is crucial to guarantee the secure and precise fulfillment of work tasks. This necessitates possessing a working knowledge of fundamental math concepts in addition to weights and measures. Familiarity with product taste, content, and perishability, safety and sanitation protocols, and departmental policies and procedures are requirements for the job.

Potential work schedule may entail evening, early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts. Total work hours may fluctuate. Excellent punctuality is mandatory.

Adheres to all regulations set by the Company, such as attendance, grooming expectations, and attire guidelines.

Work Environment:

Cooking processes, necessary tools and equipment involved in performing the job duties have inherent risks that can pose hazards.

The temperature required for cooking and preserving products can reach as high as 350 degrees Fahrenheit. When handling products in hot cases, the temperature can rise up to around 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold cases, on the other hand, maintain a temperature of approximately 35 degrees Fahrenheit, whereas coolers keep the temperature at 28 degrees Fahrenheit. When handling frozen products in the freezer, temperatures can drop as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit.

The store's temperature is carefully regulated to create a comfortable working atmosphere for employees.

UNION NON-UNION:

The hourly compensation for this position falls within the $18.94 to $22.10 range, however it will never be below the local minimum wage requirement. The starting pay for this job will differ based on several particulars such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, and any collective bargaining pact associated with the opportunity. According to the candidate's length of service, working hours, and any labor agreement that relates to the job, the scope of benefits comprise medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick paid leave (which grows depending on hours worked), PTO/Vacation payment (which also builds up depending on hours worked), paid holidays (amounting to 7-9 days annually), bereavement compensation, and retirement benefits (in the form of eligibility for either pensions or a 401k plan)
